Martijn Meerts
MicroAce will be releasing the early Dr.Yellow train in January next year. This is the one based on the 0-series shinkansen. Seems there'll be 2 version. The original design as it was delivered in 1974 (MicroAce A0495) and a renewed design with the JR logo (MicroAce A0496). Definately getting one of those =) Link to comment
Welshbloke
Is this the two car test train (later used as a "Thunderbird" to recover broken Shinkansen) or the other one? I was looking at a Micro-Ace model of the two car one on Plaza Japan but missed my chance to buy it. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
It's the 7-car version Link to comment
angusmclean
I think I picked up the last two-car version from Plaza:)) I thought the seven-car train too long for my layout, but I could be tempted if they ever produce a 925 Tohoku/Joetsu version. Link to comment
stevenh
...(later used as a "Thunderbird" to recover broken Shinkansen)... Does anyone have any more information/pictures on this set? I'd love to see real-world shots. Link to comment
Welshbloke
I'd quite like to see photos too - I'm amazed that it had any work to do with the reliability of Japanese engineering! Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
While they're not the 2-part train, there's some pictures of various Dr Yellows (and East-i's) here: http://www.h2.dion.ne.jp/~dajf/byunbyun/gallery/yellow.htm Link to comment
