Nozomi
Hi there! I take a look at the Japan Railfan Magazine preview page http://railf.jp/magazine/2010/593.html once or twice a month to see what they cover. In the next issue is something about the new Sakura Services and the rolling stock they will use. Have a look at the picture below. Does anyone know what the difference between these two types is? Is just like the 8000's belong to JR Kyushu and the 7000's belong to JR West? I tried automatic translation of the japanese Wiki page but I can't make it out. Thanks for any help! With the paypal shipping discount still on at HS it's more affordable to order heavy magazines... Link to comment
jappomania
Hi Nozomi! if you want you can find some infos in this site (google translation is 90% OK) http://tec300prototypej01.web.fc2.com/ I know that the difference are the number of the seat on head cars (you can see the external windows number don't match) and the n.6 half green car you can see some photos on http://tec300prototypej01.web.fc2.com/contents/db/tecn700/database-tecn700.html that's the reason because I've stopped my kitbashing project (until now I used only old Kato 0 and 200 cars, Tomix plastic is not so simple to modify) until now only S1 and S2 set has been delievered (total order 18 S set but not 100% sure) I hope the Sakura unofficial logo will be applied (I like this) http://railway-concierge.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2008/10/post-2398.html ciao Massimo Link to comment
Nozomi
Hello Massimo Thank you for your reply and links... I guess I have to go to japan in 2013 and ride all new parts of the shinkansen network.... and new train types!!! ciao Nozomi PS: I plan to do the Torino-Napoli trip with stops in Milano, Firenze and Roma (up and down the peninsula) using trenitalia and NTV as soon as NTV goes online. I just love those Ferrari-Style AGV's. Anyone interested in the high speed private competition of trenitalia? Here's the link: http://www.ntvspa.it/en/index.html Link to comment
