bikkuri bahn
Not a new commercial, but I still sometimes see broadcast on TV here, is this one for package delivery/logistics company Nittsu (Nippon Express). Along with competitor Yamato (Takkyubin), they not afraid to show their collaboration with railways: As you may note from the name Nippon Express, this firm has a long history in connection with the railways. Often a Nittsu office would be located adjacent to the local JNR station. Individuals and businesses would bring their express size packages and shipments here, whereby Nittsu would load it on JNR trains. typical small Nittsu office, in Ibaraki Prefecture (Ibaraki Kotsu?): http://nekosuki.org/landscape/complete/00116a01.jpg Tomytec came out with a model of a larger office, appropriate for a large town or smaller city: http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/s/?@0_mall/auc-sazan/cabinet/00879697/img56591468.jpg Nittsu also (still?) had locomotives to shunt their sidings(at Fukuno, Toyama): source: http://nainen.jp/siryoukan/omoide_senyo001/0omoide_senyousen1.htm Link to comment
Nick_Burman
BB, Nittsu is also a switching contractor - they provide switching locos and crews to industrial plants which need switching services but which don't want or don't justify a full-time switching crew (or their own locos).
