bill937ca
Rich Kerr of the East Penn Traction Club has updated his Tomix web pages including photos of a new 30 degree tram junction he has created. http://www.trainweb.org/tomix/ET-pics/pic089.jpg http://www.trainweb.org/tomix/ET-pics/pic090.jpg http://www.trainweb.org/tomix/ET-pics/pic091.jpg http://www.trainweb.org/tomix/ET-pics/ETpics.htm The open areas of the switch remain, but I believe anyone who has tried to fill those had trouble keeping the switches functional. Hobby Dreamer
Thanks for posting, Bill ! This turnout suddenly takes the layout off the "oval" grid and makes the whole layout a lot more interesting. Hello... hello Mr Kato.. Are you there?.. I believe anyone who has tried to fill those had trouble keeping the switches functional. But there is no concession in the track to adhere covers to in the delicate turnout areas. There is no technical reason why Tomix (or Kato) could not make turnouts with their new track. The frog area would be out of scale but scale modelling is about compromises. Rich Kerr is an amazing modeller as he squeezes out all he can from the products one can buy. Link to comment
