bikkuri bahn
Taken from the Keikyu down platform I see. In the second video you can hear the (rather annoying and constant) railway crossing-like sound emanating from the area around the down end of platform number 11 (Tokaido Line). I have always wondered what this sound is (a similar sound can be heard emanating from the approach track area to Sapporo Station coming from Otaru). A search of the net came up with an answer of either: a simple rlwy. crossing sound for track workers/station staff, or an audible area warning for track workers in areas of limited visibility or complicated trackwork, when trains are coming from multiple directions. I'm inclined to believe the second explanation. Link to comment
