ToniBabelony
Hah, this brings back memories. I lived one station further away for a month (Keisei-Takasago). Very interesting bunch of rolling stock passed through there, as it was during the time the Hokuso 7000 Series (with the sigma-style front) and some other older types were still running around. bikkuri bahn
Back in the nineties, it was regular to have 8 car sets of the old 1000 series ranging out to Aoto on limited express services originating at Misakiguchi. These 8 car sets dwindled to just one set by 2007. They are all gone now, alas. But happy memories of riding up front on the right side bench seat, tearing down the Keikyu Main Line after catching the train at Higashi Ginza Station and transiting the Asakusa Line. CaptOblivious
Ah, Aoto station, my first ever transfer in Japan. We took a Keisei local, being cheapskates, from Narita to Asakusa, necessitating a transfer at Aoto. I recall being very confused that the station is segregated into two levels, without outbounds at one level and inbounds on the other, rather than being segregated by platform as most stations are. Required for a junction station with little real estate to build on. The remodeled Keikyu Kamata Station will also be on two levels, with down trains on the top level and up trains below. Same with Keisei Takasago. A bit of a shame for railfanning, but a great relief for the grade crossings there. Link to comment
CaptOblivious
Wasn't Keisei Nippori also recently remodeled in this fashion? Link to comment
bill937ca
One station further down from Aoto Station (outbound from Ueno) is Keisei Taksago Station. Takasago Station is 12.7 Km from Keisei Ueno. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qNCYJZjTpA Running from Takasago Station is the short Keisei Kanamachi Line (2.5 km, 3 station) which links the JR East Joban line at Kanamachi Station. Here's a ride on the whole line with a view of the Keisei depot. Link to comment
