Unitram X-tra track rumor

Hello all you Unitram devotees.  I was able to squeeze some info out of Kato US. They are considering importing straight track plates and as we all know the streets are all 1 way and turn to the left. The new curved road plate streets will turn to right.

at the Shizuoka hobby show it looks like there are a new extra straight plate and road extension and new corner intersections coming out. only a picture on the popondetta site right now...

There's the price list. It looks like you have to buy the whole package.  No choice as to whether you buy platforms and overhead masts separately

These new platforms are a good new indeed, but not enought when you see what Tomy is showing.

That's the best argument for scratchbuilding I've seen yet.

Yeah, I'll be going with Tomix if I start with trams. While Kato offers a better exact-to-prototype match, the price and lack of flexibility is a major problem. As long as Kato still manages to come out with some other paint schemes (we've seen 1 so far) they'll at least sell the trams, maybe.

I hope you are right, although 2 pieces for this price would be also expensive.

And dear Kato: we would like to see switches...
