wmo168
I got the Unitram kit from Japan and the controller comes with an AC 100V Transformer adapter. I know the US version of the control comes with AC 120V. If I use the Japanese Transformer will it cause any issues (Over heat) burn out etc? Link to comment
rankodd
Cautious people would tell you no, but I've been running switching power supplies for Japanese gear here in Canada for years without trouble. I've also got a Kato powerpack for my unitrack that seems to work fine. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Public power is not really as stable as one would expect and has a sometimes even 5~10 Volt ups-and-downs. This has to do with weather, earth radiation, solar radiation (coming from the spaice), magnetic fields etc. etc. This is not so bad actually, as sensitive equipment as Laptops most of the time have some sort of heavy capacitor in between the apparatus and power-grid to even-out unstable voltages. Most of the time more heavy equipment as transformers have some kind of tolerance for these happenings, as they are actually quite simple objects. Don't take my word for it, as I'm not a specialist on this, but you could check the specifications of the transformer you have if there are any tolerances allowed at all. Otherwise you could search for a small 120V to 110V transformer if you really want to be sure. 1 Link to comment
Nick_Burman
Power here in Brazil is 110V and I hitch my Tomix controller onto it without any great harm. Cheers NB Link to comment

I have a step up converter and I do not leave my power pack plugged in when its not use. Link to comment

clem24
Found one from a Japanese couple having a garage sale. I guess I got lucky? I've had mine plugged in to the wall for quite a few years.. My house hasn't burned down yet hehehe. Maybe I should attach a power bar to it. Link to comment
