bikkuri bahn
The Iida Line was famous for being the retirement line for life-expired JNR rolling stock. This video has a very good selection of older rolling stock with original sound- ED62 locomotives on freight, 51 series EMUs in suka iro livery, and 80 series EMUs in Shonan colors. The 80 series were the mainstay of Tokaido Line long distance suburban services in the postwar years before the coming of the 111/113 series. Apparently video of 80 series are hard to find on the net. Location is the vicinity of Otagiri and Tagiri Stations, Nagano Prefecture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13yExyWL_7c&feature=fvw This short video, shot at Otagiri Station, has a 51 series train departing and crossing the viaduct. Listen to that traction motor sound, audible even from a distance. 2 Link to comment
