Here I present: Kitayama Rail Pages - A comprehensive guide to the extensive rail network in Japan

Just in case no one has ever seen the page.. it's English and lists 'All' railways in Japan via a clickable map.

I just found the Watarase Keikoku Railway because I saw this article on Japanese Ruins and wanted to know where the area was... turns out this quaint little railway will take you there... What a day trip!

Anyway, I hope this site helps out everyone here :)

Goran,

I've managed to find a few railways, well, abandoned lines, that need an english site for information :) Is there a chance you want to cover them as well on your site? Otherwise I might start a site like yours to cover them so that when people trawl across them in Google Maps they can work out what they are.

Well, I have data for all railways that have existed in Japan, as they are listed in "Railway Atlas of Japan". However, despite the name, the atlas is completly in Japanese. But there are so many abandoned lines so it would be very hard to do something similar to Kitayama Rail pages. I will not take on that job :-)

When I did the Kitayama Rail pages I was single. Now I have a Japanese wife - so time for nerd/geek-stuff is rather limited  :grin
