Tsugawa Yoko Train Garage

Tsugawa Yoko offers a couple of train garages that may otherwise get overlooked.  There is a wooden single track version and a double track brick version. It would be a good choice for any small DMU or tram layout.

I have built the single track version in a single weekend day. It will be used as a tram depot on a planned tram layout.

If it wasn't for the large side windows this model would make a very good covered bridge.

HS has an article on these buildings on their blog.

I looked at the single track one with the wood supports when I was determinng a shed for my layout. I found it resembled a Tomix building too much, in that it's bright plastic with little texture. Kato's plastic buildings are a bit better as they have more texture and avoid large perfectly smooth areas, but I went with TomyTec ultimately.

Tsugawa has various little building kits  available.  It's a brand I never heard of before modeling Japanese trains.

I have the bus garage, freight station, and factory. have not yet put them together, but look like nice little kits and a bit different than other options like tomytec and sankei. also thinking they are good little kits that can be kitbashed or added onto another structure easily. the factory also is a good potential, cheap source of corrugated metal walls and windows/doors that scott was looking for.

they do need a little weathering like a wash or chalks. they are moulded out of 3 or 4 different color plastics (factory i think was only 1 or 2) that are not bad, but eaily repainted to what you might desire.

if folks want i can take pictures of all the parts this weekend.

cheers

The Freight office is this one

The yellow building and the open building next to it.

Plastic is very bright, could be improved with weathering.
