Mudkip Orange
Forget Resort 21 or the SVO, check out the speed on this Izukyu local. 1 Link to comment
westfalen
Another line close to Tokyo I still have to do, I've only ever been as far as the end of JR at Ito. Anyone know what the single black with orange stripe along the lower body side passenger car in the siding at the 5:30 mark in the video is? Link to comment
CaptOblivious
I think that you'll find one of these to be the culprit: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%BC%8A%E8%B1%86%E6%80%A5%E8%A1%8C2100%E7%B3%BB%E9%9B%BB%E8%BB%8A Micro Ace is preparing a model as we speak: http://www.microace-arii.co.jp/news/IZK2100_colored.html Google calls this a "Izukyu 2100-series". I don't know anything more about it myself. Oh, wait, did you mean 4:30, and not 5:30? I have no idea what the car is at 4:30. That's very curious indeed! Link to comment

I have no idea what the car is at 4:30. That's very curious indeed! It looks like a car from one of the "black ship" Resort 21 trains. These trains run on the same run as the Super View Odoriko, but are owned by the private railway that JR has trackage rights over. One train was retired in the last couple of years. The Resort 21s are very unusual trains. The train is all reserved seating and is one of the few trains outside the JR system to have green car seating. Many cars have seating facing the sea and there is a car with an illuminated ceiling with stars that goes from dusk to dawn. See the first class car guide for photos. http://www.izukyu.co.jp/alpha/annai.html http://www.izukyu.co.jp/kurofune/annai.html http://www.izukyu.co.jp/dennsya/index.html http://www.izukyu.co.jp/guide/guide3.html http://www.izukyu.co.jp/guide/guide3_2.html http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Izu_Ky%C5%ABk%C5%8D_2100_series_EMU The Izukyu Corporation, is part of the Tokyu group, hence some ex-Tokyu passenger cars on local runs. That's the one. I've never seen the black trains before now but that's Japanese railways for you, there's always something you haven't seen before. Link to comment
