TestudoToTetsudo
Nice video! Have you (or anyone else reading this) ridden the Tojo-sen? I'm wondering if I should put this on my "to-ride" list for my next trip; is there anything special (scenery, special types of operations, etc.) that are notable? Thanks! Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Never tried this line, so can't comment on its railfanibility. It does lay in isolation from the rest of the Tobu network, serving the more western portions of Tokyo and Saitama Pref., while the main network out of Asakusa extends in a more northerly and eastern direction towards Gunma and Tochigi, and a section of Chiba. Always like to see (and hear) the 8000 series at work. Couple of nice curved stations there. Link to comment
TestudoToTetsudo
Thanks Bikkuri-Bahn. From what a map and Hyperdia can tell me, it looks like it would make for a nice half-day loop trip from Northwestern Tokyo -- Seibu Line Shinkuku-Haijima, JR Kawagoe/Hakicho Line Haijima-Kawagoe, Tobu Tojo Line Kawagoe-Ikebukuro. Would take 3-4 hours I think if you can get express trains and connections right. Good way to see two private railroads, and one of Tokyo's suburb-to-suburb lines, in a few hours... Link to comment

Yes, that would be a good plan, this line would serve well as a positioning route to see other sights/lines. Also, the end of the line at Yorii is a junction with the JR Hachiko Line and the Chichibu Railway, which has interesting passenger and freight operations. Link to comment
