Claude_Dreyfus
Lots of activity from me tonight! This time I'm introducing my nephew's birthday present...he is 6 on Monday. I saw this in a toy shop near to where I live about 6 months ago and had to get it. He already has a large collection of Brio, however I could not resist getting him onto the slippery slope and setting him down the path of Japanese trains! I did not even realise that Brio made a Bullet. Although crude, it does look like the 300 series it is meant to be, and to me is pretty cool. Lucky I bought it when I did...I have not seen these in the shops since... 1 Link to comment

Mudkip Orange
I had mad Brio when I was a kid. My family lived in chicago for a stint, and I got lots and lots of piers so I could make "L" trains. At one point I had a Brio layout with a track for every CTA line. Link to comment
Bernard
Brio Trains is such a great gift for kids! For 3 years that all I got my nephew for Birthday, Holiday, etc. What I like about the toy is that it helps the child to use their imagination in possible layout designs they can make. Plus, Brio is excellently made, they can take "rough" play. Link to comment
NozomiFan
Ah.. Brio... Since I come from a Norwegian family, I had tons of Brio. I didn't know they had such a thing. Is this a recent (last 5+ years) product? I had the stations, the piers, and anything else. Then came along the crude DCC style trains, those were bad ass. I think Brio would make our lives easier if we used it for our layouts. Link to comment
CaptOblivious
Brio is so expensive though! And it's increasingly hard to find in America. I find it's cheaper to import Tomytec PlaRail :D and that stuff can really take a beating, let me tell you. Still, pretty cool! Link to comment
Kitayama
Brio department in a toy store, Ginza, Tokyo. The Shinkansen Brio train can be seen on the shelf. Link to comment
robrodgers2000
My son had a Brio table, but then he was assimilated by Thomas. I don't regret it though, he learned so much from those toys and books, including his love of trains and willingness to help his old man with layouts. :) Rob Link to comment
cteno4
you can cheat on the brio, there are several knockoff systems that interoperate with brio. also our local craft chain, ac moore, has 40-50% off coupons on one item all the time, so a good way to get a starter set reasonably. even ikea has a brio knockoff, but its pretty crude and the track set does not look like it has much imagination, but is cheap. cheers jeff Link to comment
