Mudkip Orange
So we've jettisoned the old, postcount-based rank system in favor of a naked popularity contest, in which you, the site user, have a constantly-running tally of the number of times other people have "liked" one of your posts. This has the potential to introduce exciting new social dynamics to the forum, such as reciprocity/backscratching, wherin users must make sure to distribute "likes" somewhat evenly in order not to alienate people who might potentially "like" you. It's just like East Coast machine politics! The only flaw in the new system is we're all starting from scratch. But what if you've already put some effort into adding quality content to the forums? That's what this thread is for. Surely you've got some old posts or threads that deserve to be tallied as "likes" under the new system. Post them here, and we'll have the option to go back in time and "like" your old posts, thus updating the new popularity-based rankings to more accurately reflect the disparate levels of contribution which were formerly documented by the postcount-based rankings. I'll start: Spiral Time on the Hokuriku: http://www.jnsforum.com/index.php/topic,2564.0.html Full-length Keihan Main Line tour: http://www.jnsforum.com/index.php/topic,2566.0.html Toyoma Portram Prototype info: http://www.jnsforum.com/index.php/topic,2127.0.html "Oh what is this," or subway yards as modules: http://www.jnsforum.com/index.php/topic,2572.0.html What older threads of yours merit a like? Why don't you try posting them... and see what happens! Link to comment
Mudkip Orange
Yo I don't see any "likes" on none of these posts, so I'm bumpin' this. Post your old threads and whore for likes! Link to comment
