Case for 2 axle freight cars?

I want a case to store my small freight cars in (mainly the Kawai ones that come in cheap boxes) such as these:

I bought the Micro Ace B1171 "Train Book Case for Two Axis Freight Cars" but it didn't work out well.

The problem I found was that it was way too tight. The Micro Ace case uses hard rubber like foam, and the cutouts are the exact size of a 2 axle freight car. You can just barely push them into the slots, but there is no way to get them back out without removing the insert (which is itself a difficult challenge because of how tight it is in the plastic case). I didn't eventually put the case to use storing American short ore cars and Micro Ace's very small coal hoppers, but I still want something to store the freight cars instead of keeping them in the cardboard boxes.

I could try getting the "long" 2 axle case, but that's another stab in the dark. I'm also not a fan of the Micro Ace cases, I prefer the Kato/Casco type of foam insert.

One alternative is Kato's A or B case. Some measuring of my 787 case (an A insert) seems to indicate that I could split each slot into 2 pieces by cutting the filling piece in 3 - the center section where the little tabs are would remain, with the tabs keeping it held in place to seperate the two cars. However this means slicing up foam inserts, which I'm not sure I can do without creating a mess (I don't want little pieces of foam constantly breaking off the rough edge and clinging to my rolling stock). If I ordered the B version I could also have a spot to put in a matching Kato locomotive (always found the idea of a case for a "complete" train set nice).

Also this Casco case seems like it can work though I think the pockets might be a bit oversized for small freight cars:

Any suggestions (BTW, will post a picture of the Micro Ace case with ore cars in it tonight)

I think a pretty good case for 2-axle freight cars is that, for lines with many small customers, they provide twice the flexibility of traditional four-axle freight cars with roughly equivalent maintenance cost.
