maciekish
Hi, i recently replaced my Digitrax command station with an ESU ECoS and also replaced the Kato EM13 in my Kato Class 800/0 with a LokSound 5 micro DCC Kato decoder. Everything in question is less than 3 months old and barely used. The train worked fine with the EM13 decoder, even with the ECoS. But as soon as i installed the LokSound 5, the train now starts, stops for a second, and then continues. If i then manually stop it and throttle up again, it works fine. But if i leave it sitting for a moment and try to start, it does the stopping thing again. I have other trains with Zimo decoders that work perfectly fine. So far i have: Reset the decoder to factory defaults using CV 8 and reset track power. Tried a million different BEMF settings, and also disabled BEMF completely with CV49 bit0=0. Checked any and all CVs related to asymmetric braking and ensured they are off, even though i do not have any asymmetric braking sections. Verified asymmetric braking is disabled, even though i have no assymetric braking on my test-layout. Verified that motor overload protection is off. Turned off delay start for sound, even though that looks different (start is delayed but doesnt stop once moving) DC adaptation mode is off (DCC only) There is no track power issue, everything is new and the coach lights stay on during the stop. Video of the issue: http://public.swic.name/LokSound5.mp4 Here are the relevant (i think) CV settings. I've also attached a txt file of all CV settings read by JMRI (no, its not connected when the issue occurs) I also sniffed the ECoS traffic during the event. There is a command for speedstep 85, and my manual request for speedstep 0. No other stop requests are coming from the ECoS or anywhere else. maciekish
Big thank you to the ESU support who finally found the issue. The sound project i was testing before installing the decoder had "drivestop" checked in one if the nodes. I thought resetting with CV8 clears all logic, but it doesn’t. Unchecked drivestop and reflashed and its working 😂 1 Link to comment
