Steve
Hello Folks! I started to build my GM Prepainted EMU Kits. The first Set I build is the 13012 Kumoha11/12 EMUs 23-car Set. The Set comes with Parts to build two EMUs of the Kumoha 11 200 or Kumoha 12 0 Series. The Kumoha 12 is a rebuild Variants of the Kumoha 11 (which are Renumbered Moha 30 EMUs and other 17m Steel Body EMUs from 1953) from 1958/1959, with a secound cap at the rear end to use them as single Units on Local Lines. The content of that Set - you also need PS13N Pantographs and TR11/DT10 Bogies, or a motorised 17m Chassis with DT10 Bogie Covers. The Instructions are very... basic. Just one Page with this diagram... Close-up of the Body Sprue The Front and Rear Endes for the different Variants. - Note there is a seperate Set to build Kumoha 11 400 Series EMUs. Close-up of one of the Details/Roof/Body Sprue. You get the sprue 4-times, in grey and in Black. JGR painted some of their EMUs Roofs black during the War. Some of those Kumoha 11 retain their Black Roofs when they got renumbered in 1953. Otherwise you can use them to build Moha 30 EMUs before the renumbering in 1953. The build Body with the glued on dark Grey Roof... ... completed with details. Those details are hell to glue... The chassis is just three parts... - Note the nubs on both Ends for functional couplers. The married Body and Chassis with Boggies and functional Tomix Couplers. Both are snapping into place, when put together. The Windows became the next Hell to glue... Finally, after c. 12 Hours of Work, both EMUs are completed. I build one Kumoha 11 and one Kumoha 12. Only the Numbers are Missing. Next is to motorize one of both... Edited Monday at 04:01 PM by Steve 3 Link to comment
