EHizon671
Hello everyone. I need some assistance. I'm looking for the specific Shinkansen model that my older sister took from Tokyo to Kanazawa during a business trip in February this year. Although she doesn't remember the name of the specific Shinkansen, she did capture some photos of the train that she rode on before it left the station, as well as a video clip showing the number W725-318. My family and I typically ride the Nozomi 700A, but this Shinkansen is unfamiliar to me. Any help would be appreciated! Link to comment
Kingmeow
From the stripes, looks like an E7 but wait for others to confirm. https://www.plazajapan.com/4949727695624/ Link to comment

Lessigen
The car number W725-318 is a dead giveaway that it's a W7 Shinkansen, I believe one of the motor cars. An E7 would comparably have E725 instead. By the way E7s and W7s are the same model of Shinkansen just operated between JR East and JR West respectively on the Hokuriko/Joetsu Shinkansen. Kamome
W725-318 is car 7 of W18 formation (Unit 18) of the W7s based in Kinhaku depot. Kato’s W7 model is that of the W8 formation but looks exactly the same if you weren’t trying to find the exact specific train. Link to comment
