After reading an article by Lance Mindheim on shunting and car spots, have curiosity about how it works in Japan. Let's say a train arrives at the local warehouse, how is the work done?. Are there car spots?

Should have. In the case of boxcars, they need to be lined up with loading dock doors, where present. 

 

In the case of containers, anywhere goes - the forklift then sorts containers according to destination within the plant.

I am tempted to buy some boxcars for paper service

How are you doing?. On switching industries, I am searching what industries to put on the layout and found some prototypes. 

Paper mill. 

Oil terminal. 

Cement factory. 

What  do you all think?. You are free to add any industry you know. Thank you.

Rail factory? As in it makes the steel rails and then sends them off to be installed.

 

Or I suppose just steel foundry in general.

Some small industries we have near the tracks that could be rail-served in an earlier period.
