Luxury Sleeper Train Cassiopeia to Be Retired

The luxury sleeper train Cassiopeia, which once connected Tokyo’s Ueno Station with Hokkado’s Sapporo Station, is set to make its final run this June before being fully retired, according to sources at East Japan Railway Co.

 

Due to the aging of the cars the train is being retired.

Oh no, I'll be missing it by just a few weeks (I'll be in Tokyo in August). What a pity, I was wanting to see that beautiful train once for real. Didn't catch it in previous travels...

It only runs as a special tour train (not regular service) since 2016.
