Nick_Burman
Feature about the forthcoming absorption of the Shin-Keisei Railway into parent Keisei, scheduled to happen next April. Search me why YouTube put a Tobu train as the thumbnail, though. Cheers 3 Link to comment
miyakoji
Thanks Nick, I was not aware of this. According to Wikipedia this is happening next month (this year), not next April. I wonder if the crews are happy to have more variety in their routes, or if they don’t want anything to do with new lines, lol. Link to comment
Express691
This wasn't the only acquisition-type merger on Japanese Railways effective April 1. Another big one happened over in Kansai as the Semboku Line, branching south from Nakamozu in Osaka, was absorbed into Nankai. Had a buddy in Japan and he was ultimately curious about the amount of toritetsu on the Semboku platforms. Here's an article on the Toyo Keizai Shimbun in Japanese. https://toyokeizai.net/articles/-/867842 I'm probably going to do a youtube short on this topic. I did a youtube short on this topic: Edited April 8 by Express691 2 Link to comment
Sacto1985
I'm actually kind of surprised that Shin-Keisei Railway wasn't part of the Keisei Electric Railway like 20 years ago. Link to comment
