bill937ca
Japan has added another diamond crossing on the new route to JR Hiroshima. Historically there were 3 streetcar diamond crossings in Japan in Matsuyama, Osaka and Kochi. The Hankai Tramway closed the stub terminal and its diamond crossing in 2016. Now Hiroden in Hiroshima has restored the count to 3. Existing tram crossings are on the Iyotetsu at Otemachi Station, which is the only streetcar / train crossing. There was a previous crossing on the Hankai Tramway at Sumiyoshi. But this was taken out of service January 31, 2016. Video from 2013. Kochi has a diamond crossing at Harimayabashi. Now Hiroshima has a diamond on the route to the new station at JR Hiroshima. Video March17, 2025. 5 Link to comment
Tony Galiani
So I see Kochi isn't the only place to see trams in multiple liveries. Enjoyed the brief video about the Kochi diamond - I never made it to that spot. Maybe on a future trip. Cheers, Tony 1 Link to comment
