Brett
Allow me to Welcome and Introduce my Layout "A good Day To Railway" My name is Brett an Australian Retiree as of October 2024. I retired earlier than expected due to"having enough"of standing on concrete floors for 40 years. Now,like many of you,i promised that in retirement i would indulge in things i love ,and one of these is, of course a Model Railway. Now not having a big circle of family and friends, especially who have this type of interest means Social Media is one way to communicate. So,i have also Started a You tube Channel which i will Link. Its no money making excercise just another avenue out. I would be honoured if you Visit and delighted if you subscribed. Now before i post a few picks some details: N scale Point to point on shelves running 3 walls of a small room(in a small house) It has 3 "districts" British,USA and Japanese. Lifelike or prototypical is not, more a "collection" It is DCC running Kato Track and Trains. Here's a link to a Preview Video Warm Regards Brett P.S I may upload the video again as there is a problem at the end should be ok now, sorry Edited March 14 by Brett 13 Link to comment
cteno4
Welcome Brett, glad you found us! Fun layout. We have a club member here who did a similar layout in the shape of a big G that hit the places he rode trains the most: Kyoto, Philadelphia [where he grew up], and Zurich. Please keep us posted on the layout! You can also edit your own posts later when logged in if needed. Just click on the 3 dot icon in the top left of any of your posts and the menu will give you the option to edit the post. cheers jeff 1 Link to comment

Brett
Hello Members Hows everyone? A little Update: Over the last few weeks ive spent hours and hours underneath my layout, due to a wiring problem. Since my end goal is to have complete Automation,i have A LOT of wiring. And of course ,i can be Untidy with it. My Setup consisted of 2 NCE Auxillary Boards,NCE USB and 2 NCE Min panels. These (can)would hook up to a Laptop where JMRI could drive Signals trains ETC Now for signalling,it worked Well.Using their SignalMAst logic,it was a pleasure to watch the signals change as the train moved. But as far as Automation of Trains,i had setbacks.I think, because my layout is essentailly end to end,it became difficult. I think if it was a Roundy roundy,it could work. As well ,hooking up a laptop and running all these programs became a little old,i have limited space. No critcism just my "view" Always my desire,is to walk into my little room, flick a switch and the layout comes alive, lights signals trains. So anyway,it seemed time for a rethink,so out came all those boards and connections and replaced by one "super Panel"see below I have 28 blocks using NCE Bd20 which send signals back to whatever board you use, then you can program something to happen. In the old setup,i was limited by on board memory and commands, this new one has 10 x the ability. Im hoping to program (very) basic signalling into it,ive already tested a command. This boards input can use both Low and high signal, meaning a light goes on when a train activates the sensor then goes red when it is high(no signal). Ok is this stuff boring?? well i better finish then,i will leave with a pic of the super panel, please excuse wiring,im halfway their then it will be tidied up. I will let you know how i go All the best Freinds! Brett 4 Link to comment
