Also needs to pass emissions tests which could be some work for the little engine as they are not usually made to be super clean burners.

A 90's one? Probably not. An early 2000's one should pass EURO 4 equivalent testing without issue and maybe EURO 5?

The 2013-current one isn't relevant to you, but casually exceeds EURO 6. No emissions issues there.

Thats good to hear, i was expecting the small engines to not have to be so clean. Emissions here is also more state ruled with states like CA being very high but then its such a huge market it tends to drive what the market makes not wanting to loose those sales or make 2 versions.

Cars here do need to be tanks for the most part. Other issue is how big so many of our vehicles are and kei is like a bug compared to them. I would so love one!

but I do about 50 miles a week at 70mph as well.

Holy smokes! Your chipmunks have to be on oxygen and be drinking red bull or something for that. I don't go over 50 in mine. That's 3K rpm.

I do need to change oil soon. I do it every 3-5K miles but since I retired and bought this car, I haven't made it that far in over a year. The oil filter is about the size of a coffee cup. I've been trying to find a larger one.

As for safety, a 60's VW bug can punt us into the weeds... The auto braking stuff works. I almost ran into the back of the car in front. This thing slammed on the brakes so hard and made such a racket! I'm glad it didn't warp the front rotors like it did my previous Every Wagon. It also yells at me if i change lanes without the blinkers - what a pain haha.

Cruise control - Pivot makes them. https://pivotjp.com/ Unfortunately, not for mine yet for the brake pedal as I don't want to cut any harnesses.

Is it a bad time to mention I've had it up to 77mph? 😄

Not on purpose mind, I was sat behind a BMW and my brain just went into autopilot matching speed for 20 seconds before I realised and slowed back down. Most of the time I sit at 60mph.

The British Kei Cars can do 105mph with the R06A Turbo, so I'm not really worried I'm hurting the engine: https://caterhamcars.com/en/models/the-range/seven-170

Oil changes and tyre rotations every 5000km! So that's one change since I bought it in December, well on my way to the second!

Yeah, they must have 6-10 gears or something. 440kg, less than half of mine. 84 BHP, about 20 more than mine. Low to the ground, uh ah no. I get great visibility though 🙂

Oh yeah, I rotate mine every oil change too.

77mph! The noise must've required hearing protection haha. I put a 231 V6 Buick engine in a 87 Toyota P/U a long time ago. Didn't change the rear end so she was spinning pretty high, even in 5th. I drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles and I had a massive headache and I couldn't hear anything for a few hours afterwards. But, some carpet pad and carpet on the rear wall brought it down significantly.

Well, if we go by months per gallon, I probably got you beat big time. I think I drive 60 miles per month, @ 25mpg = .417mo/g haha

I've done 7000km since I bought it (at 13km on the clock) on Dec 20th.

So, yes. 😉

Man, I just looked at the Suzuki website and I cannot believe you would do that speed! You put a wing on the rear end to keep it down? Hmm, now that might be interesting...

Why not? 50hp is plenty!
