MrLinderman
Hi all,  Just joined up, been interested in Japanese culture and their railways for a long time, never took the plunge to start in the Model railway hobby though as I have other hobbies that take up most of my time and $$ 😄 - radio control aircraft that I fly in aerobatic competitions (IMAC) has been my main stay hobby for the last few years, with building and flying planes, helicopters, drones and anything with a motor for the last 20+ years.  I dabbled in "modelling" for a short period, making Bandai and Airfix kits, some Warhammer style games also that helped with my painting experience.  Growing older, and having my own home and space has helped push me more into creating a dedicated hobby space, at this stage I have a few options, but one I am considering is dedicating a section of my "hobby" shed to trains and giving myself a nice bit of area to make a decent layout, alternatively I have a 1.8mx0.9m table in the upstairs office that I am considering turning into a small layout.  Glad there is a forum like this to talk also, nice to be able to record and post about progress on layouts and ideas without being subjected to social media. cteno4
Welcome MrLinderman, glad you found us! Yes we are a nice little community and definitely not social media! Lots of aussies here.  Jump in and ask questions. Sounds like you have most all the skills under your belt to jump into the deep end of model railroading.  If you feel like it, please start a topic on your rc hobby activities in the other hobbies forum, it’s always fun to see what other hobbies folks are doing.  cheers,  jeff 1 Link to comment
