New face of travel: Skyliner introduces facial recognition tech

They had facial recognition at Haneda for the gates to security and at the aircraft boarding. I was a bit hesitant but decided to try it, and it did work well.

The face recognition passport control at Heathrow is still terrible, mind you.

I saw that in November as well, but did not try it out.  I may try with Air Canada when I make a trip in April and see what happens.

It's one of those things that individually doesn't make a huge difference. You save a few minutes of queuing, but just end up spending the time waiting elsewhere for their flight to depart. If everyone does it, it should speed things up for everyone, but would you risk getting to the airport later?

In other words it mostly helps the airport, not you.
