Jack
I run a double track mainline using Kato double Unitrack. I want to switch both tracks to a parallel double track to access a double track helix, so I can add a second layer 12" above the exsisting track. Please look at example. Anyone have a suggestion for inprovement. Link to comment
dotzen
Maybe this? On the first diverging track you have a 124mm straight. To maintain 33mm track centres this should be 128mm made of 2 x 64mm straight. The difference isn't much, and there is usually enough play in the track to overcome slight mismatches in length, but in such a small space this becomes difficult if not impossible to align. There is also the 60mm track piece that comes supplied with the 20-221 fitted to the through track , this keeps the tracks equal in length so that you can reconnect to the double track without fuss.
