Tony Galiani
Food and trains - always a good combination. Think I would like to try the one at Akihabara Station on my way to or from the model train shops over there. Ciao, Tony 6 Link to comment

I believe JNR had them because since the trains had a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph) even with the 100 series trainset, it took a long time to travel if you went between Tokyo to destinations west of Tokyo like Okayama, HIroshima, Tokuyama, Shin-Yamaguchi, Kokura and Hakata. They only finally dropped them when the 270 km/h (173 moh) 300 series train set arrived in 1992. 1 Link to comment
Gunzel
Sad that there’s not even trolley service on the Tokaido Shinkansen anymore. You can order to your seat if you’re in a Green Car on a Hikari or Nozomi. At least JR East are still doing trolley service. But I guess there are no dining cars left in Japan at all now, just the dining experience trains. Link to comment
