Madsing
Just purchased the Kato 24-002 Quick Rerailer. It works really well. Very useful. 5 Link to comment

cteno4
How well does the rest of the train run over the ramp once you have rerailed in the middle of the train? jeff Link to comment
Madsing
Quick video to try to answer your question, turn up the volume to hear the wheel's sounds. Marc Edited December 31, 2024 by Madsing 3 Link to comment
cteno4
Thanks Marc! Very cool it can work by hand so well. Nice new tool to have. cheers jeff Link to comment
Kingmeow
I wonder if this will work with non-Kato track, i.e., Atlas, Peco, Tomix, etc. and where people do their own ballasting with a cork or other material base (can be sloppy and inconsistent). I'm curious on how the underside fits in those situations where it can potentially interfere with the rerailer's operation. Link to comment
cteno4
I’m guessing it should work with Tomix rail and probably other code 80 rails, but ballast would be an issue of course. Wouldn’t take much to pop the rerailer up just a tad and make a mess of things jeff Link to comment
Madsing
I use Tomix Fine Tracks. Wide PC for the first photo. Standard PC tracks for the video. Yes, finding a place to operate the rerailer is a challenge. For the video I purposely chose an empty "unbuilt", but in many other places on the layout the rerailer could interfere with details such as signals, fences, or platforms. That said, it just costs $3 and I am happy to have one as it can be useful in many situations. Marc 2 Link to comment
