Kato N 7008-J DCC Installation

The Kato N 7008-J takes a Digitrax DN163K4A just like the 7008-C. Remove middle Roof, then light green cover. Then remove both hood ends. Remove motor tab hold down. Slide decoder back from chassis hold downs. Move motor tabs to new Digitrax board, and put engine parts back in order of removal

I have a Kato 7008-F waiting in the wings for a decoder install.  With the DN163K4A, do you have to shorten one (or both) of the light pipes in the hood to clear the SMD LED?

The Digitrax board replaces the orginal without modification. You do need to peel back some whit insulating tape on the bottom of the board. It is shown on the Digitrax instruction sheet. See Photo
