Mixing a matching Brown for KATO "Grape No.2" Rolling Stock

I achived to mix a brown, which is nearly identical to the Brown, KATO is usung on their Rolling Stock in "Grape No.2"

 

 

The brown is slightlyslitly darker and paler that the KATO Color, but I will use the Color for Iori Koubou Rolling Stock, which will then match my KATO Passenger Cars.

 

How did I gout that color; i found a simple way, after I failed many Times, mixing the Army Painter Air Colors "Traitor Red", "Magnolia Brown", "Oak Brown" and their Black Air Color.

 

At the end, I could mix the color by just mixing Paints in the the following relation;

 

5 Parts "Traitor Red"

2 Parts "Oak Brown"

1 Part "Magnolia Brown"

 

Then I mixed in 1 to 2 Parts of Black Air Color. Based on how dark I want the color. It is possilbe that you need to adjust the color by adding more Trator Red. For the Darker Grape No1, mix in more Magnolia Brown. It the color to brown, mix in a bit of Chaotic Red.

 

I failed to make Pictures which showes the differences, because it's not possible to show the actual differences.

 

There is also one shortcoming: The color needs to get a finish with satin varnish, otherwise the color looks to pale and much darker, browner.
