Rokuhan Z - Possible new DCC Sound decoders?

I was researching more on DCC for Z scale, and I came across this blog post from August:

https://elmdcc.hatenablog.com/entry/2024/08/18/131246 (You will need to scroll a bit down the page to the 'Rokuhan' section)

After translating it into English, I read that there may be a new line of DCC Decoders from Rokuhan with sound built onto the board. However, I am unable to find any further information, including on Rokuhans official site or socials.

Does anyone know or have heard about this new line of Sound Decoders? The main reason I would like to know is that I plan to buy decoders for my Rokuhan Z trains, but if they are going to release updated decoders with sound on board, I will absolutely be holding off on my purchases until they are released.

Thanks in advance.

Rokuhan's new controller is being developed by Desktop Station together with a 'light board' which not only adds a lighting strip but also the sound emitter as well. This board will allow re-writing of SmileSound Data files to program a soundset of your choice from those available.

Desktop Stations website does not mention these Z gauge developments - with no surprise as this is a work-in-progress product currently being developed for Rokuhan.

Since this is an add-on product why hold back on purchases?

Judging by the images on the blog post, the new decoders will be all-in-one. So it makes sense to wait until they are released and buy the new ones rather than buying the current ones and then replacing them with the new ones. Otherwise I would be paying twice.

Really cool.

We were talking back at another post about Rokuhans E-train Controller that now apparently can be controller by the E-train Station developed by Desktop Station https://rokuhan.com/eTS/index.html. We were discussing that the E-train Station did not have a way of playng sounds in the E-train Controller, but so as you have researched it seems they are moving towards being able to load sounds into the new DCC decoder. That would be a great step forward. Its good to see they keep evolving, that means we will continue having new stuff coming from Rokuhan.

Will follow very closely also this post. Thanks for the info1

The decoders DO NOT come as a complete train and decoder, they are a PCB with speakers and light - exactly as I stated.

I am fully aware they don't come as a complete train and decoder. They are an additional PCB which gets installed in place of the provided PCB in the existing trains.

But as I wrote, why would I go to the trouble of buying the current A059 Rokuhan DCC boards to install into my current trains when I would then need to buy the new PCB and replace the A059 with the new one just to add sound?

So, exactly as i stated, would it not make sense money wise to hold off on buying the current DCC board and keep running DC, then buy the improved new DCC PCB with sound and do one single install? What's the point of buying 2 separate DCC PCB's for each train when I can wait a while and only need to buy one for each train? Plus I would only need to do one install per train rather than uninstall a decoder and then install another. I think I would prefer doing ONE install per train. Especially considering how fiddly it is working with such a small scale and wires.
