Live Japan Train Map

Looking for some information on another topic and a link to a live map of japanese trains was in there.

I checked out Tokyo, went down to Enoshima (6 trains on the line) then to Hakodate.   It's pretty cool!

 

I did try searching to see if this had come up in another post so feel free to pull the psot if it's a repeat!

Very cool!  Gives you an idea of the complexity of their rail system yet the smooth running of everything!

Wow, that is an incredibly useful website! I will bookmark it on my phone so I can look the next time I'm waiting or rushing to catch a train.

 

I wish there was a similar one for buses. Google Maps show some buses when you are navigating and waiting for one, but it seems that most bus companies don't provide the data.

I'm hoping that it it is using live reporting data, but wondering if it's a labourious effort of animating it according to timetables.

It's a 3D isometric view but also includes links to live trackside webcams where available.

I've been looking for bus sites/apps but not much luck so far. It seems that most busses don't have GNSS tracking anyway.
