Robsr
I’m building a 19ft by9ft railway layout. It’ll be 3ft deep all around the outside with a central well. In the middle of the well will my “cityscape” area, around 6ft long and 3ft wide, leaving two small access holes around 3ft square The city area will be filled with three loops of Unitram. Is there any way of removing the road markings from the track plates as I think they look unrealistic and don’t want huge “boulevard” type roads with the trams in the middle. If it can be done then I’ll make my own road markings that are closer to the pics that I’ve taken from around the UK Thanks in advance Rob Link to comment
bill937ca
I have gently sanded off the markings with Wave Precut Sandpaper # 600 sanding strip. Not available at this time. But there is at least one alternative available and you can ask to be notified when it is available. The sanding strip is small so you don't take off too much. Be careful the stone paving can also be sanded off. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10516881 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10201301 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10531546 This is the layout that this was ultimately used on. 1 Link to comment
Robsr
thanks for the reply. I’ve also looked at your links and your pics of the 3-part cityscape has given me ideas as well as a sense of space available. Link to comment
mr bachmann
Myself use oven cleaner for locos and rolling stock , it takes most paints and decals off down to plastic , may be try on a piece of tram track , remove the uni joiners , the rail should be ok as it is nickle . there is videos on YouTube on cleaning with oven cleaner .
