cteno4
Just realized that woody Joe didn’t have its own topic in general! Woody Joe makes fantastic wooden kits of castles, temples, shrines, trains, ships, and odd other bits. They are laser and die cut with great precision and requires a lot of time to assemble. They make many of the Japanese castles in 1/150 scale. maihama eki
I've always wanted to buy one of the 1/150 castles. I'm especially drawn to Matsumoto Castle. I should buy it while the Yen is still relatively soft. I would *of course* buy the "Improvement Edition" https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10894308 There seem to be precious few reviews online. I would like to see a YouTube video of assembling one of these. Link to comment
N-Osoi
Oooh I was looking for a 1/150 castle... a pie in the sky idea of mine was a T-Trak module based on the Shogun TV show opening credits with the castles and the sand garden patterns. Pricy but they look great! Edited September 10 by N-Osoi 1 Link to comment
cteno4
They are wonderful models, I have one o got during covid for like half price. Yet to start it as it is a very big undertaking. the smaller castles could fit on a deep module. We have one in the club that is a papercraft “Japanese castle” kit off ebay that is Osaka castle minus a floor (I think to dodge licensing) and may be bit closer to 1/200. But it’s good sized and very enjoyed by the public and they are always amazed it’s made from cardstock! Always a good module for goji to be behind. Deep modules are a PITA if you are doing up and back layouts on single banquet table widths, but no problem if you do rectangular layouts that don’t have modules going back to back. there are the plum 1/200 castles but most are out of production. Search the forum and you will find a few other castle model topics. jeff clubmember’s cardstock castle 5 Link to comment
