CircaToday
Hi! I acquired this old pair of Tomix EF63 18 and 19 (92908) for quite a steal for what it is and one of them are missing quite a bit of parts. The trailer loco is missing mainly pantos and the special convertible couplers that was special to the EF63, but I think ill just settle with the regular non-convertible couplers. I am thinking of just retrofitting them with whatever is available in either Hobbysearch or amazon jp; but regardless of that plan, I would still like to hear the opinions of my seniors in this dear field of N gauge 🙂 Edit: Also, it is unfortunate that the special headmarks are also missing, but hey at least the rest of the locos are free from scratches and blemishes Edited August 18 by CircaToday Link to comment
Kamome
Think this product is prior 2000 so exact parts may be difficult to locate. New product coming out in Jan 2025 so things like coupler parts should be available again around then if they’re not at the moment. You need the PS17B pantographs which are general Tomix spares although seem to be out of stock everywhere. https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/n/0223.html Edited August 19 by Kamome 1 Link to comment
CircaToday
I see, thanks for the info! also on the topic of EF63s by tomix or kato, I find it interesting that they are most likely already printed/painted on rather than being given the choice of which specific locomotive number you want Link to comment

Kato’s EF63, I have 6 or 3 pairs if you prefer, come with metal etch numbers so you have 4 or so number options for locos. Not sure in your case how the Tomix ones come but as this set commemorates the last days of the Usui Pass, JR spec units 18 and 19 being painted back into brown “budou” grape colour and were some of the banking locos used on the last trains alongside units 2 and 3 in blue. As they’re very specific locos, numbers most likely came pre fitted. Link to comment
