bc6
I'm assuming that would be the retailer of the locomotive, And of course since I lost them, I would pay for replacement steps. Link to comment
cteno4
Big thing would be to track down if it’s listed as a replacement part. Yes source would be the first stop, then if they can’t get it start on a spare part search with usual sources. jeff Link to comment
Kamome
1 hour ago, bc6 said: I'm assuming that would be the retailer of the locomotive Greatly depending on the retailer as they sold it to you complete, they may not want to deal with lost parts. A "going the extra mile" retailer may be able to contact repairs for you, although general Tomix procedure is to request the item back for repair, much like Microace. A quick check, doesn't appear to be any spares listed other than a replacement drive shaft at time of writing. If you have no joy with the retailer, ping their customer services department an email. They may be able to dispatch out parts to a Japanese address with some persuasion to not follow their regular item sent back procedure. I doubt they'd send parts overseas but you never know. https://www.tomytec.co.jp/support/mail.html 1 Link to comment
Wolf
Please keep us updated, the DD200 is so over the top detailed imho, its prone to break/loose something. Knowing Tomix usually does not hand out any spareparts at all and rather have you hand in the Loco, we would really like to know what you did. Link to comment
cteno4
I’ve never heard of Tomix directly sending any parts or repairs outside Japan and only heard of folks getting repairs from an extra mile retailer, like Kamome mentions, by sending it thru the retailer. Same with ma. I doubt their customer service will respond to outside Japan request, but can’t hurt to try. There was a blowup way back with some Tomix product that was distributed outside Japan a lot (I think maybe it was the vacuum car) when folks outside the country tried to get repairs from Tomix and Tomix’s reply was their warrantee was not valid outside Japan, period. Maybe they have warmed to the rest of the world after their short flirt with international distribution thru Walthers, but that went down in flames pretty much and I don’t think is still happening. jeff Link to comment
Kamome
I still have a contact email for a chap who helped me with my EF66-100 issue a few weeks ago. I'll send him an email to see whether he can advise, even if just to find out whether these parts are available. 1 Link to comment
bc6
Hey Kamome thanks, I just sent an email to RG-ROKKO who possibly can reach out to TOMIX about the steps. Edited August 6 by bc6 Link to comment
Kamome
Just sent. ”Belt and braces” so hopefully you can get a resolution easily enough. Link to comment
cteno4
Will be very interesting to hear the results, jeff Link to comment
Kamome
Had a reply from the chap that helped me last time. It was kind of a generic, official-line answer asking me to fill out another support enquiry form. He did mention that parts could be sent out again if necessary as he did before although I did mention that I was enquiring on behalf of someone not in Japan. Let me know if you want me to continue with the enquiry or whether you wanted to do this yourself. RGR may have more clout to be sent parts as they’re a stockist. 1 Link to comment
bc6
Thanks for checking again Kamome, I guess that makes sense. Its a good thing that the steps do seem available. You don't need to ask anymore for me I'll try to see if RG can navigate the process for me. I could pick up a few during my trip to Japan in several years lol. I appreciate the effort and maybe this info can be useful for someone in Japan who are missing steps for their DD200. 1 Link to comment
