I guess considering the user interface, having it look human makes some sense.  Otherwise I”d say the designers had watched too much anime 🙂

I was going to post this, but I couldn't decide what to say about it, I find it somewhat alarming.  If it were less humanoid, I'd like it more.  I wonder how much manga the designers read.  Years ago on NHK's Cool Japan, they had a segment about a dual-arm excavator built by Hitachi, iirc.  I thought, the guys who came up with this read a lot of manga.  The program then had some comments by the guy who designed it.  He said something like "yeah, I was inspired by something I once saw in manga" yeah no kidding lol.

I think if they made it look more like a Gundam it would be easier on the eye. It's because it doesn't have a proper face, it looks a bit strange.
