JR East
Looooong time ago a 30km-network of 600 mmm gauge train was provisionning sugar mills with sweet beetroots freshly harvested in around Pithiviers. There was also a passengers service. (you can read the full story here using Google Translate : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tramway_de_Pithiviers_à_Toury). Disrupted in Nov 1964, a part of the rolling stock belong to the AMTP, a presevation society I was volunteer in looonnng time ago (too). Back to Pithiviers, I've spend a bit a of time to make some videos to share my journey with you I let you discover this lovly train. @Tony Galiani : it's the train we discussed together as we were having a beer at Bastille Edited July 2 by JR East 4 Link to comment
Tony Galiani
@JR East - I am going to have to time my visits to France better. It would have been great to get to see this. I certainly enjoyed the pictures you sent but it would be a great experience to see these trains in person. Tony Link to comment
