N-Osoi
So Imagine my surprise (mixed with a bit of delight) in waiting at a busy intersection this morning, only for a convoy of large flatbed trucks to go past carrying some oversize JR marked ... rolling stock? Grabbed my phone for some sneaky pics but dammit didn't get any focus 😞 - the orange logo is JR though... second hand stuff?  5 Link to comment
miyakoji
Possibly a tie tamper for 1435mm gauge from the shinkansen, the orange logo would be JR Tokai. Â Several images here of that livery: https://mcdb.sub.jp/forums/topic/pt_09-475-2x_3421_jrc_mt-884/ 2 Link to comment
N-Osoi
You could be right - the cutaway part of the second piece fits the bill. A fair amount of rail here but no high speed of course. Edited May 24 by N-Osoi 1 Link to comment

bikkuri bahn
GEMCO Australia has supplied rail flaw detection vehicles/devices to JR Tokai in the past (RTV-A3 model). They are typically labeled as RFD/Liteslice. Could be related to that. Edited May 26 by bikkuri bahn 1 Link to comment
