Dillon
For anyone that doesn't know, Canadian Pacific 2816, a 4-6-4 Hudson is operating a cross-country tour from Canada to Mexico to celebrate the first anniversary of the forming of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City, I don't have my own photos of 2816, but I do have an enamel pin of 2816. Link: Maybe KATO could make an excursion set with matching cars, diesel locomotives, and a 2816 model. Edited April 29 by Dillon 2 Link to comment
bill937ca
CP 2816 did a tour in 2004 with a stop in Belleville, ON. I bought a ticket at the school board office and proceeds went to the local Breakfast for Learning program. We rode west about an hour to Coburg where another load was waiting in the tall grass. As CP has not had passenger service in decades we boarded in the brush along the track. We came back by school bus. Not nearly as neat! Its an oil burner. RS18U
Here is a map and schedule of the trip; no details yet of the Mexico portion. And the web site: https://www.cpkcr.com/en/community/final-spike-steam-train/? 1 Link to comment
tossedman
We saw the 2816 many times around Calgary as they were doing their shakedown runs. It's pretty impressive. My kiddo was at the departure ceremony and recorded this short clip. 3 Link to comment
