Adrian
Hi All, So I bought a bunch of Kato/Micro-Trains MT-10 for my Japanese Freight cars. I successfully installed it with some modification. Its decoupling and coupling mechanism is working well with the magnetized rail. The thing is, installing the MT-10 to my engine / Kato C57 Primary made me do some irreversible modifications only to realize that it won't work. Upon checking other Japanese Steam Locomotives manual, it seems MT-10 won't be compatible. Do you guys know other magnetic couplers that would fit nicely on to these Steam locos? I'm planning to do some shunting and it would suck if I had to manually uncouple the steam loco from the cars while the rest are hands free uncoupling. Below are pictures to show the modified coupler holder that is attached to the tender of the Kato C57. As you can see the pin that holds the coupler was removed to make way for the MT-10 coupler assembly. Again, this was a wrong move. Hope there is a solution to this.
