VentureForth
Something I notice on Hobby Search is that they sell several "paper" train car kits. Who have built these? Are they difficult? Any pics? Link to comment
Yavaris Forge
I will likely get Iori Koubou's new Honi8950 kit, and have previously built a Kofu Model Hoki3500. Paper kits are a great way to start into the kit game, because they are nice to assemble and you don't need to solder them like you do with brass. Plus they are relatively cheap and often depict models never released before. I've not built any Iori kits before, but the Kofu Model Hoki was fun to build. I have to remember to prime it before painting. Also note that with Kofu kits you need to order decals separately. Usually all paper kits require Kato long (14.4mm) wheelsets as well as couplers of your choice. The instructions are short, but mostly easy to understand, some thinking is required. The kits has the option to choose between 3 different sub-classes. They mostly differ in the arrangement of the roof hatches. Kofu Model uses SLA 3D-printed bogies, they look good, but a train of 10-20 of these would be hard to pull. Then again I don't know if there even were 20 of these particular cars IRL. I use this one in a mixed freight train. The paper adds a nice texture to the finished model, that way it looks a bit beaten up already. I will weather it at some point, and it is also missing decals. 7 1 Link to comment

tossedman
I picked up three Iori HO narrow gauge "Jurojo Railway Wa Type 6" paper kits. This is as far as I've got, opened it and looked. Cheers, Todd 1 Link to comment
