b.nice2000
Another simple apartment building. This one can be constructed in levels, so you can make it as tall as you want. Remember to put in the window frames and glass in as you build upwards. There are tabs in the bottom of each floor for alignment, but I haven't tested them yet. stl files are at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6380943 As usual... please show pics and comments on buildability if you make this. 1 Link to comment
Takahama Trainwatcher
Modular construction, floor by floor? You read my mind. I am hoping to generate a tall building (several, really) to separate 2 sections of a line; being limited to a printer volume of 12 x 12 x 12 cm means I need to design it this way. Link to comment

b.nice2000
I just typed "Japanese modern city buildings" into Google.. and saved a whole heap of pictures. Squishie buildings by 1987porsche944, on Flickr Had no idea Tomix had done one like this one.. (Apartment 2 I knew Tomix had a similar one) The reddish building in the attached picture is what I modelled it on. My "apartment row" is limited to 7cm deep (room for the bigger buildings further back. Still hunting for 3 or 4 more Apartment types I like the look of. 🙂 So, TT, if you have anything (not too complicated) in mind, post a pic.. I'll see what can do. 2 Link to comment
b.nice2000
Needed to adjust the window frame height with a file. Do a test print of a single window frame, and make sure its not too tall, otherwise layers will not fit down tight to each other. This one has some small gaps on the sides (which you intentionally can't see from this angle) because of this issue. Edited December 24, 2023 by b.nice2000 2 Link to comment
