Tomix Layouter 2023

I have recently purchased this and have got it running on a EN/AU Windows 10 PC. It's taken the liberal use of the Google Translate app to do so. Has anyone else used this planning tool? As I'm puzzled about how track is meant to join together, I see nodes but no way to connect them.

I also have a feeling that it might be more optimised for touchscreen over mouse, luckily I happen to have a laptop with such a screen.

This guy for example starts dropping track on the workspace and connecting them from around 5:30.  You can turn on subtitles and click the gear to use auto translation:
