Kamome
Nice idea if you aren’t concerned about accuracy. Even despite the lack of reality, Chiki or Kumu would be more appropriate for loading road vehicles if you wanted to make it more feasible. The loading team did an excellent job of steering the vehicles to avoid the literal pitfalls of the koki here. Kudos! Kokis could be used as some of the JGSDF trains have specialised loading cradles that secure to container trucks and flats. Kumus could be used for road vehicles with tyres and the wooden decks on Chikis would be better for caterpillar tracks if you wanted to create your own style train. Military bulldozers have sometimes been loaded in Toras. https://ameblo.jp/kereiisukoke/entry-12700116681.html Edited October 22, 2023 by Kamome 1 Link to comment
bc6
Thanks Kamome I should have looked for some prototypical MOW loadouts, Lol the team thanks you for your kind comments they tried very hard to balance everything on the Koki. I will look for the railcars that you mentioned to bring everything into prototypical arrangement with the replacement crew shows up hopefully soon. Link to comment
Kamome
Merely ideas for improving a sense of realism which you can use or decline. I am a big advocate of the mentality, “It’s your railway, you can run what you like. Shame that there aren’t the variety of freight trains loads that there once was in Japan or that other countries see. I guess loading gauge is a big contributing factor. The Tomix chikis are very inexpensive (¥700) but are currently like gold dust. They come with some rail loads which also provide the weight. With my JGSDF loads I ended up glueing some shortened pieces of rail load under the cars to help keep them weighted. I was also keen to replace the super shiny silver wheels with blackened ones. Tie downs made with brass rod, EZ line cord(Berkshire Junction) and 1/12 tamiya motorcyle chain parts. Link to comment
