Adding details, scratch-building a platform roof and the seats that come with it.

I just couldn't resist adding more details today 😉

Your scenic modelling is great and those added details just make the scenes magic...brilliant!👍

I am always inspired by your ability to create single scenes on your layout. You really have an eye what exactly to put where for perfect detailing. I love it when you can imagine small Stories on a layout.

Thanks Graeme, Wolf!

@Wolf Creating stories is exactly the idea. Trains might be a technical achievement, but they have had (and still have) a major impact on society and people's lives. They are part of so many stories and creating stories around a layout is just what trains are all about 😉

I've got the railroad crossing working 😉

It closes and opens automatically when a train passes, all controlled by the iTrain software.

The little layout is getting closer to completing.

Things left to do:

- Water: lake, river and waterfall

- Overhead wires

- Adjust and reprint the background

- Add a sky with integrated LED lighting

- Add adjustable legs under the layout

- Weather the trains and optimize running

- Some final details.

@cteno4 I used Deep Pour Water from Woodland Scenics as a basis. The waterfall was made with Making Waves by Deluxe Materials. I used both Making Waves and Water Effects from Woodland Scenics for the splashes and waves. Grtz! Huib

Slowly but surely we are getting closer to finishing the layout. Yesterday I made the legs for the layout. They can be adjusted in height at the touch of a button. This layout is intended for exhibitions and I want everybody to get a proper look at it, including kids, people in wheelchairs and very tall train lovers.

Up next: final details and overhead wires. And finally a sky with adjustable LED lighting, sound system and karaoke mode.

I had a go at installing the overhead wires. I kitbashed a set of Tomix poles and added Sommerfeldt wires to them. I know it is not a 100% accurate, but I like to believe it gives a good impression. It's still work in progress, but the basics are done.

Looks great @Huib

Your scenery and backdrop work together seamlessly. The catenary choice looks spot on. Very accomplished modelling. Just shows what can be achieved in a relatively small space and create maximum interest.

I have added a sky with RGB LEDs, controlled via make-shift DCC/LocoNet decoder. I also built a sound system into the layout that plays a Japanse ambient sound in a constant loop. And... since karaoke is a big thing in Japan, I have added 'Karaoke Mode'. Let's give it a try... 😉

ABBA!  👍  😄

You can also darken the sky and play thunder noise to simulate bad weather coming.

WAIT!  How about Godzilla screams????  🤣

Yeah, that's a plan 😉 I wrote the code for the light controls myself, so adding more effects is no problem 😉

I have already added day, evening, night and morning presets. The lights switch to red when there is error or derailment on the layout.

Thnx @Kingmeow 😉
