Steve
Hello there, I have seen pictures of the ESU 58731 Decoder on the Internet, getting delivered with and wihout a (soldered) speaker - why? Edited September 8, 2023 by Steve Link to comment
katoftw
Not all modellers want or need sounds. If you are asking why some decoders come with and without pre-wired speakers. The answer is that the speaker is too big for the decoder location, and allows the modeller to wire up the speaker in a different location. Hence being non attached for better flexibility of install. cteno4
Also folks may use their own speakers as many are now making little sound boxes to improve sound. jeff Link to comment

cteno4
Same product you can just ask for it soldered on or not soldered. Why does it matter same sku? jeff Link to comment

Because when you're ordering online you may not get a chance to specify and they may not offer the service. Usually different variants of something have different sku numbers. 1 Link to comment
