Hayashi
I am considering the MRC Tech 6 (PN 1200) power pack and Tech 6 Handheld (PN1203). Although I'll start with block control, I figured the hybrid DC/DCC would make me future proof. For now, I'll only be operating one freight loco on my freight line. My questions are: 1. Is the wire connecting the power pack to the handheld a standard 8P8C (RJ48 or RJ61). 2. If so, is MRC's extension plate (PN 1501) required for a different location or can I use a standard plate? 3. Does MRC have some proprietary wire arrangement? 4. Or should I stop trying to DYI and just order the PN 1501 extension plate with 10' cable? Any better suggestions for a power pack with remote? I'd like to keep cost down, but I like momentum feature and hybrid DC/DCC. Link to comment
